Installation Prepar3D is a 3D flight simulation program for Microsoft Windows with support for most common hardware. It can be run both in freeform mode with customizable scenery and activities, or as a mission-based simulator. This blog post would serve to inform the reader of all the options that are available with Prepar3D. The post would also provide information on what features are included with each version of the software, as well as how to download and install the software. CAD/CAM software can be used by 3D image-makers almost anywhere. With the arrival of new digital cameras and scanners for photos and 3D images, having a 3D image functioned by CAD is a benefit to not only designers, but also modelers. With the addition of new hardware and software, 3D printers have become a favorite tool in making prototypes of products for engineers and innovators seeking better products using plastics, metals, resin materials, or other materials.
In 2016, "Flight" magazine announced that FSW is working on a version 4 release with the capability to import third-party aircraft from OpenFlightX, which was removed from Prepar3D in May 2016. FSW's development team is centered in St. Petersburg. During Flightsimulator's 2015 event, FSW announced that version 4 of the software, which is to be called "Prepar3D", would support DirectX 12, 64bit architecture, and will run on Windows 10. The 64bit architecture will allow for more 3D models to be used without performance issues. FSW also stated that Prepar3D will utilize the SimDirector simulation tool for viewing AI operations around the virtual airport. Additional AI tools per airport type are listed as well as an improved weather engine offering better visuals for real time weather effects. Second Screen support is also being worked on however FSW did not provide further information. The ability to have an entire virtual airport in the same room with the user will offer a new level of realism for virtual pilots. Prepar3D 4 was released in 2016. FSW's latest version, Prepar3D v5 has its own website, where updates are posted every two weeks and new content is added every few days. "All software titles are proprietary to their respective companies." FSW can be requested to make additions if needed to the content for download for Prepar3D at their website (FSW Prepar3D).
Other industry developers have been hired to assist in making improvements to Prepar3D. In 2016, FSW announced that a team from the German company Dovetail Games is working with FSW to develop a new version of Prepar3D for a future update. The team also did the same for Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Microsoft Flight. As of December 15, 2015, there have been no official announcements from the developer regarding whether or not further development of this project will continue in the future. All references to it on FSW's website are currently broken links. This issue has been highlighted many times over on both Facebook and Twitter by Prepar3D users (including FSW staff).
